I often focus on my life in Berlin, travel impressions, human aspects and seek a connection to nature. I want to paint a world that people like to immerse themselves in. I also like to use experimental means to do this. For me, painting a picture means wanting to deal with what I have seen and experienced, to delve deeper. I am attracted to a particular mood, a color tone, a graphically dominated composition. Also experienced stories, perceptions in human interaction. I want to develop my own aesthetic from this and share it with others. I am particularly impressed by impressionists and expressionists as role models. The process of painting is the real driving force. Dealing with a topic is very exciting. It challenges me completely. Starting with an idea that fascinates me, the picture never develops as planned. When comparing it with the original, I experience contradictory emotions. Sometimes I am happy to allow a dynamic of my own, sometimes not." Renée König
