For me, big cities especially in the evening and at night. have a special atmosphere that fascinates me, particularly because of the colors. I try to capture this feeling in my work. Since the urban scenes are painted with watercolors and heavily diluted acrylics, I have only limited control over how the colors flow and blend. Each painting becomes a new experiment. In contrast, bold black outlines give shape and definition to the objects.
