With her series "By the Pond", the artist takes the viewer on a journey past "small water landscapes" she encountered while hiking and strolling. One can see reeds, grasses, water lilies, branches, and leavesboth on and beneath the water’s surface. Fragments of "blue sky, trees, and other reflections shimmer on the water. However, the movement of the water and the way light refracts create an abundance of intriguing shapes and lines. To capture this effect, she combines her realistically painted acrylic scenes with abstract elements an attempt to encapsulate this microcosm and invite the viewer to discover their own little worlds.
